Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Conducting Risk Assessments:
– Identifying workplace hazards and assessing associated risks.
– Recommending appropriate control measures.
2. Ensuring Compliance:
– Monitoring adherence to Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA) and other regulatory requirements.
– Liaising with authorities during audits and inspections.
3. Developing Safety Policies:
– Assisting in formulating and implementing safety and health procedures.
– Conducting regular reviews of safety management systems.
4. Safety Training and Education:
– Organizing and conducting safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
– Promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
5. Incident Investigation:
– Investigating workplace accidents and near misses to determine root causes.
– Recommending preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
6. Monitoring and Reporting:
– Maintaining records of safety incidents, inspections, and audits.
– Preparing reports on safety performance for management.
Qualifications and Skills Required
1. Educational Background:
– A minimum of a WSH Level B certificate or equivalent.
– Completion of the Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator Course (WSHCC) approved by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and Registered as WSHC co-ordinator .
2. Relevant Experience:
– Minimum 2 years Practical experience in safety-related roles in construction industries .
3. Key Skills:
– Strong knowledge of WSH laws and guidelines.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Analytical thinking for problem-solving and risk assessment.
