Training Work Permit (TWP) – Important Things Workers Must Know

A Training Work Permit (TWP) is only for training, not for a regular job in Singapore.

What you CAN do

✅ Attend training as per the approved plan
✅ Learn technical or professional skills
✅ Stay in Singapore only for the approved training period

What you CANNOT do

❌ Do full-time work like normal employees
❌ Replace local or regular workers
❌ Get a normal salary (only allowed allowance, if approved)
❌ Work beyond the training period

Main Limitations

TWP is short-term (usually up to 6 months)

Training must be clearly defined

You must follow the exact training role

Overstaying or wrong work can cause ban or blacklist

Recent Issues Seen

⚠ Some trainees were made to do normal jobs
⚠ No real training given
⚠ Staying and working after permit expiry

Result:
❌ Permit cancelled
❌ Employer fined
❌ Worker banned from returning to Singapore
